About

Country Clipper was founded in 2020, Claire had just finished her dog grooming qualification before the first covid lockdown hit and like many was struggling to find a job in the sector. Her father found her a van which she kitted out and used as her dog grooming salon on her parents driveway. Country Clipper has been here for 4.5 years and in 2024 Claire decided it was time to look into expanding the business and pursuing her dream further. Claire secured a shop in New Alresford in November 2024 and plans to move the business and open the shop in June 2025!

Meet Claire

I am Claire, Director of Country Clipper Dog grooming, I live in the beautiful town of New Alresford with my fiancé Oliver and our dog Ivy. I opened my dog grooming business from my parents home in 2020 and have been working as a dog groomer for 4.5 years, this job has taught me so many skills including patience, the ability to read dogs body language and of course, clipping and scissoring skills.

My passion and love for dogs started when we adopted our first family pet 'Nancy' when I was a child, from having Nancy in my life I grew fascinated by these incredible animals and knew I had to spend my life working with them. Since then I have worked with dogs from the age of 16 with my first job being a Kennel Assistant, I learned so much about dog behaviour and care in this job. I stayed in this job for the time I was at College where I studied a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Animal Management and then went on to do my Level 2 in Dog grooming.

In 2021 I welcomed my very own puppy into my home, we attended puppy school and loved it so much I decided to train to become a ‘Puppy School’ tutor so I could help other puppy owners. Ivy and I have continued with lots of training over the last 3 years and we now compete in agility competitions together.

I look forward to meeting you and all your lovely dogs very soon!

Meet Olivia

Hi, I’m Olivia and I am the newest member of Country Clipper Dog Grooming. You may recognise me from your local Alresford Tesco, I have worked in Tesco for 4 years and gained lots of knowledge within the retail sector.

I have lived in Alresford since I was a child and really enjoy being out in the countryside with my two dogs Mog & Milly and spend lots of time out for dog walks. I have spent my whole life around dogs with family dogs in the house since I was born. My love for dogs lead me to finding Claire, hearing all about Claires job made me realise that becoming a Dog groomer is just what I wanted to do with my career. I start my level 2 diploma in dog grooming in September and in the meantime will be helping out in the salon, bathing dogs and gaining more experience working with dogs.

I look forward to being able to further my canine knowledge and see you all soon!
